AYUSH system of medicine becomes famous among people



KUPWARA, Dec 30: With the aim to familiarize the AYUSH System of Medicine among the people of J&K, this
system of medicare facility are becoming famous day by day among the people of border district Kupwara
due to utmost dedication shown by the doctors, paramedical staff of AYUSH units of the district.
To treat the patients through regimental therapy, 43 AYUSH doctors, 33 Pharmacist are working round the clock
in AYUASH units of PHC’s, CHC’s of the district.
As per the statement by District Nodal Officer of AYUSH System of Medicine,
Dr Shabir Ahmad said that about 1.22 lakh patients are treated by the doctors of this system
during this year on daily basis’s OPD’s in the AYUSH units across the district. Besides 586 Institutional
delivery’s are also held during this period in said units. Similarly 11056 ANC registrations,
500 regimental therapies on IPD basis, 27 Septum Positive, 3 malaria positive,
2 urine for AFB positive has also been detected by the AYUSH doctors.
The patients are also being provided the free medicine by these units.
In addition to that free medical camps are also being organised under AUYSH system of medicine
in far off areas of the district like Machil, Tangdhar, Keran, Teetwal, Chowkibal, Nowagam etc to
provide this type of medicare facilities to the people of border district at their doorstep.
One of the biggest AYUSH health camp was organised at Zangli Kupwara with a title “Healthy Life Style”.
On the best performance and dedication of AYUSH Unit CHC Kupwara, it has been selected for
Special Performance Award-2012 which has been received by the
Medical officer AYUSH unit CHC Kupwara on September 25, 2012 at the function held at Dental Collage Srinagar.
